Shuvankar Bera

Shuvankar was born on 22nd July,1987 in South 24 PGS, West Bengal, India. He completed post-graduation in Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He is now working in a reputed global bank in Bangalore.

Shuvankar started watercolor painting at a very early age and discovered his passion for watercolor. Painting in watercolor is like meditation to him. Watercolor, in his opinion, is the most dynamic, fragile and mysterious medium. Watercolor is a simple medium and it is meant to be paint simply. Shuvankar tries to take advantage of what’s happening on the paper and always tries to finish his painting at 70-80% near the full completion and let the imagination of the audience play a role and finish the rest 30-20% of the painting. Shuvankar’s favourite subjects are – landscapes, figurative paintings, cityscape and seascape.
